Compliance without unnecessary workload

The old manual process is becoming the expensive process.

Traditional tachograph-data collection consumes working hours, requires coordination with drivers and vehicles, creates delays, and increases the chance of a missed download or human error. For a growing fleet, that is not simply inconvenient — it becomes an operational risk.

From 1 July 2026, the regulatory landscape also expands for light commercial vehicles used in international road transport. The more vehicles that fall within tachograph rules, the more important it becomes to replace ad-hoc manual collection with a repeatable, automated process.

The objective is simple: keep tachograph data available and organised without turning compliance into another reason to interrupt routes, call drivers back to base, or depend on USB sticks and manual reminders.

Remote tachograph downloads with fleet-grade reliability.

Entopizo GPS Tracking is more than vehicle location. With compatible Teltonika telematics hardware and tachograph integration, your fleet can automate the remote collection of tachograph DDD files without requiring the driver to perform a manual download or the vehicle to return solely for data retrieval.

Automatic scheduling

Set repeatable download intervals so data collection becomes a background process instead of a recurring manual task.

Centralised cloud records

Keep downloaded files available to authorised users for operational review, archiving and inspection preparation.

Less driver involvement

Your drivers remain focused on transport operations while the system handles routine data collection in the background.

Why Entopizo

A strategic choice for remote fleet control.

The value is not just “remote download”. It is the combination of dependable hardware, automation and fleet visibility that turns a legal obligation into a better operating process.

01 / Zero downtime

Keep vehicles on the road.

Critical tachograph files can be retrieved remotely while vans and trucks continue their planned routes. No dedicated trip back to base simply to collect data.

02 / Teltonika technology

Hardware built for telematics.

Entopizo combines its fleet platform with compatible Teltonika telematics equipment, giving businesses a robust foundation for GPS tracking, tachograph integration and connected fleet services.

03 / Consistency

Make compliance repeatable.

Schedule downloads at defined intervals, reduce reliance on memory and manual actions, and maintain a structured archive that is easier to access when records are needed.

Move tachograph compliance from a manual task to an automated fleet process.

Tell us what vehicles, tachographs and fleet size you operate and we can recommend the appropriate Entopizo configuration.

Roadside enforcement is evolving

Your fleet control should evolve with it.

Smart tachographs support Dedicated Short-Range Communication (DSRC), allowing authorised enforcement officers with the appropriate equipment to receive limited Remote Tachograph Monitoring indicators while vehicles are in motion.

That makes roadside enforcement more targeted and data-driven. Instead of relying only on traditional stop-and-check methods, authorities can use remote indicators to preselect vehicles that may require further inspection.

Important distinction: DSRC is a preselection tool. Remote indicators help enforcement officers decide which vehicles may need to be checked; the transmitted information is then verified during a subsequent roadside inspection.

Frequently asked questions

Remote tachograph download, explained clearly.

Discover how automated tachograph data collection can reduce administrative work and support a more efficient fleet-compliance process.

01What is remote tachograph data download?
Remote tachograph download is the automated transfer of digital tachograph files (DDD files) from the vehicle unit and driver card to a central system or cloud environment, without requiring routine physical access to the vehicle for each download.
02Is Smart Tachograph V2 mandatory from 2026?
From 1 July 2026, the EU tachograph rules extend to light commercial vehicles over 2.5 tonnes and up to 3.5 tonnes when they are used in international road transport within the applicable regulatory scope. These vehicles are required to use the second-version smart tachograph.
03How does Entopizo support Mobility Package compliance?
Entopizo can automate tachograph file collection through compatible telematics hardware, schedule downloads at defined intervals and centralise the resulting files so they are easier for authorised fleet users to access and manage.
04What are the advantages of remote tachograph downloads?
They reduce manual administration, limit dependence on driver actions, help prevent missed collection cycles, keep records more organised and reduce the operational disruption associated with bringing vehicles back solely to retrieve tachograph data.
05Does the vehicle need to stop for the data download?
With compatible equipment and the correct tachograph integration, routine downloads can be performed remotely without taking the vehicle out of service solely for file collection. Availability depends on the vehicle, tachograph and installed telematics configuration.
06How are tachograph files protected?
The system is designed to transfer and store files through controlled digital infrastructure, giving authorised users central access instead of relying on removable media and scattered local copies. The exact security architecture depends on the selected Entopizo solution and deployment.
07What role does DSRC play in roadside checks?
DSRC allows authorised enforcement equipment to receive specific Remote Tachograph Monitoring indicators from smart tachographs. It is used to help preselect vehicles for further checks; the transmitted information must be evaluated and, where necessary, verified during a roadside inspection.
08Why combine GPS tracking with tachograph download?
Combining GPS tracking and remote tachograph data collection brings fleet visibility and compliance workflows into the same telematics environment, helping businesses reduce manual processes and manage vehicles, routes and tachograph records more efficiently.
